What needed to change

With 6,000+ product-variant combinations in the Shopify catalogue, updating metafield data manually was impractical. Every change required navigating the Shopify admin individually for each variant.

The Solution

What we built

We built a browser-based tool that accepts a CSV file, matches rows to Shopify variants via SKU, and pushes metafield updates in bulk through the Shopify API.

Browser-based JavaScript tool using the Shopify Admin API. CSV parsing with row-level validation. SKU-based variant matching. Rate-limit-aware batch processing.

Outcome

Reported 30+ hours of manual work eliminated for the initial catalogue update.
